February 25th, 2017 - Hightower Begins 2017 Season at Daytona International Speedway

Brandon Hightower opened the 2017 racing season on Friday night at Daytona International Speedway (Daytona, Florida) for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Powershares QQQ 300. Piloting the Premier Recycling #40 entry in a field of 43 cars, Hightower improved on his time in his second attempt in practice topping his 33rd fastest with the 26th fastest. Recording the 31st fastest time in qualifying, Brandon earned the 31st-starting position for the 124-lap main event on Saturday afternoon. Pacing himself throughout the race, Hightower avoided multiple car wrecks on lap 23 and lap 30 to keep a solid position for the remaining 90 laps. Staying away from another pile-up on lap 105, Brandon looked capture his best NASCAR finish of his career with only 30 laps remaining. Battling right outside the Top 10 in the closing laps, Hightower was able to cross the finish line in 13th marking his best finish ever in the Xfinity Series.
